    In response to the needs of the people of Alaska for a more diversified and decentralized system of higher education, the Board of Regents of the University of Alaska has established four major administrative and instructional divisions of the University. Programs and activities are conducted under the administrative direction of three Chancellors and a Vice President for rural Educational Affairs, with guidance from local assemblies. This catalog describes the programs and activities being conducted at Juneau-Douglas Community College, Ketchikan Community College, Sitka Community College, Southeastern Senior College, and by Southeast Public Service, including Community Education Centers in Haines, Petersburg and Wrangell.
