Abstract

This workshop provides a practical introduction to ELAN (https://tla.mpi.nl/tools/tla-tools/elan/), a common documentary linguistic software tool for developing time-aligned transcripts of multimedia language materials. Through this two-part course, participants will gain hands-on experience in creating customized time-aligned transcripts in ELAN and in applying ELAN to accomplish common tasks in language documentation, description, and revitalization.
